Cold Brew Froyo

Cold Brew Froyo is made with 3 simple ingredients: yogurt, cold brew coffee, and naturally sweetened with honey.

By now, you guys probably know how much I love my coffee. I am obsessed with an Instant Iced Latte and recently even made a video because that is some good stuff. So naturally when I saw Kohana Coffee was hosting a recipe contest featuring their product, I knew I had to participate. I use coffee primarily to drink & sometimes make mocha overnight oats but the warm weather is making me crave for frozen treats which explains the Cold Brew Froyo. Also, I have an ice cream maker that hardly gets used (last time was almost a year ago). If coffee is your thing, you are going to love this Cold Brew Froyo made with 3 simple ingredients: yogurt, cold brew coffee, and naturally sweetened with honey.

Froyo is basically a frozen dessert made with yogurt and other flavoring/ingredients. It is slightly tart and lower in fat compared to the ice cream because it is made with yogurt vs. cream & egg yolk. The amount of fat, sugar, and the presence/absence of probiotics can vary significantly from one froyo to another.

Unlike yogurt, frozen yogurt is not regulated by the FDA, meaning the froyo from your fav place could be made entirely from yogurt—or could be ice cream with a little yogurt stirred in. I don't mean to scare you or stop you from enjoying your froyo but wanted to inform you that it is definitely not a 'healthy food' because it is made with yogurt.

I used my ice cream maker to make Cold Brew Froyo but if you don't have one, you can use your food processor to blend everything and freeze it for 2 hours or until it is firm at the edges and semi-soft in the center.

If you make Cold Brew Froyo in the ice cream maker, you can enjoy it immediately with all your favorite toppings & freeze the rest to be enjoyed as your snack & dessert.
