Virtual Coffee Date

If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that I have been reading a lot lately. I have finished 2 memoirs namely Love, Loss, and What We Ate by Padma Lakshmi & My Organic Life: How a Pioneering Chef Helped Shape the Way We Eat Today by Nora Pouillon with Laura Fraser. I absolutely recommend both the books, especially if you are interested in personal stories tangled with food and cultural. Currently, I am reading Sweet Bitter by Stephanie Danler - so far great!

If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that I caved in and bought a bike so the boyfriend and I can ride around the city. We have already been to the library, biked around the Trinity trail and even brunched at the Spiral Diner (again).

If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that Summer in Texas is brutal this year. I see lots of popsicles, iced chai latte, and salads happening regularly! And super high electricity bill - boooooo. <PS. Chopped Kale & Chickpea Salad coming Monday>

If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that my Summer classes are keeping me super occupied. I have 2 classes and it feels like there is something due every single day --->>>T O R T U R E.

If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that I just purchased this Orlanda Heel Pump and I can't wait. Since the shipping was free over $100, I added this and this to the cart too. They always get me. If we were having coffee this morning, I'd ask if you've heard about the most ridiculous thing FDA just approved for weight loss.

If you are interested in weight loss, first read my post on weight loss // share it with your peeps before they fall into scams such as this one.

If we were having coffee this morning, I would end our date with few quotes...with so much tragedies everywhere, I have tuned out the news as much as possible.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” — Martin Luther King Jr.

We don’t see things the way they are. We see them the way WE are - Talmud.

“I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong.” ― John Lennon

What would you tell me if we were having coffee this morning?
