If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that shooting a video is lot harder than I thought. I spent sometime last week figuring it out but I am awfully awkward in front of the camera so you guys will have to wait sometime before I post my first youtube video.
If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that I have been slathering coconut oil in my face as a moisturizer. Since I have an acne prone skin, I was not sure how my skin would react to it but so far, nothing drastic has happened. My foundation doesn't feel as smooth but my goal is be makeup-free and have a naturally beautiful skin.
If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you about that 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans got released yesterday. It's a big deal in the nutrition community; I view them mostly as guidelines that are in place for policy makers/ federal programs and be mindful that it doesn't address many areas clearly which makes it hard for consumers to understand. Being practicing as a RD for almost 5 years, I believe in personalized approach to food and promote wholesome, less processed approach to food and moderation. Here, here, and here are some great articles by if you are interested in learning more about the guidelines.
If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that I am trying to make reading as a part of my bedtime routine along with my chai. I finished two books already - Sous Chef: 24 hours on the line and A Dictionary of Mutual Understanding. If you are interested about the food service world or are currently working in food service, Sous Chef is a MUST read. The 2nd book is very moving/painful/tragic story that involves a complicated story on family, bombing in Japan, and love. Currently, I am reading All the Houses - so far, the plot is interesting.
